SUMMARY:Jody & Bob at Raue Center Café
DESCRIPTION:Jody & Bob at Raue Center Caf With Tom Vos JANUARY 2 @ 5-7p FREE ADMISSION! Come and enjoy the smooth sounds of Bob Diss and Jody Fields over a cocktail or a cup of coffee in this intimate setting in quaint downtown Crystal Lake. Bring a friend\, kick back and relax. You'll find yourself smiling\, tapping your toe\, and possibly singing along. Take some time to enjoy the good things in life laughter\, music\, and good company! Jody grew up listening to her dad play jazz classics on the piano\, and her smooth Karen Carpenter-style voice lends itself particularly well to the genre. You can find Jody most Thursday evenings at Jack & Lidia's in Lake Villa\, where she sings old school classics with the StanDard Jazz Project www.standardsrecovering.com. Jody also rings hand bells at First Congregational Church in Crystal Lake\, and gathers her musician friends for their annual Beatles Sunday every summer. When she's not doing jazz\, she's doing soft rock from the 70s and 80s (recently termed Yacht Rock) with her husband\, Paul\, and their 10-piece band\, Jody's House www.jodyshouse.band. Bob is a member of the American Guild of Organists and plays for the First Presbyterian Church in Woodstock. Bob is also a sought-after accompanist and highly regarded local jazz pianist\, and you can often find him playing in the Jazz on the Square house band in Woodstock\, and with the StanDard Jazz Project in the Lindenhurst area. Recently\, Bob combined his love of jazz and liturgical music into a very well received church service supported by jazz versions of classic hymns\, which has been embraced by 3 local churches so far. Bob can also get his groove on\, and he does so as a member of Jody's House\, performing regularly at festivals and private parties. Dedicated to realizing its mission of arts for all\, Raue Center is proud to host local talent free of charge to our community. Artists are welcome to hone their skills in a warm\, cozy atmosphere while patrons are free to indulge in a selection of beverages from our caf bar. The schedule is subject to change\, so please visit rauecenter.org for the most up-to-date calendar of events. If you are interested in performing in our caf space please email program manager\, Billy Seger\, at bseger@rauecenter.org. Caf programming is sponsored by Casio and Piano Trends.
